How our category system works
Top level + subcategories
9 top-level groups (coffee equipment, catering equipment, refrigeration, packaging, ingredients, generators, signage, parts, complete trailers). Subcategories narrow each to specific products — espresso machines vs grinders, fryers vs griddles vs ovens.
Specificity wins
Buyers arrive looking for "commercial fryer Ireland" or "espresso grinder Cork". Suppliers should pick the most accurate category — list each product separately rather than dumping everything under one bucket like "Ingredients".
Admin-managed taxonomy
Categories aren't user-created. That keeps the taxonomy stable for SEO and stops fragmenting into 200 near-duplicates. Missing a category? Drop us a note — we add them in response to real supplier demand.
